Contact

Eight subject lines, one inbox.

Everything arrives at [email protected]. This site carries no contact form, because a form has to hand what you typed to something, and that something always takes more than the message: your network address, your browser build, the page you came in from. Your own mail client sends exactly what you decided to send.

Routing

The subject line decides what happens next.

Each rule below gives the line to put in the subject field, what the message needs to establish, and the period the answer arrives inside. A message filed under the wrong line is still read and still answered; the line only makes it faster.

01

Axiom

You think one of the six is wrong. Name the number and set out the rule you would install instead. An objection with no replacement attached is harder to act on, and it is still worth sending, because the six exist to be argued with rather than admired.

02

Axiom 2

A board reached a position where you could not tell which of two moves was right and had to try one. Send the puzzle identifier printed on the pause screen and describe the position you were stuck at. This is a defect report: either the solver missed a branch or the check that rejects such boards was not applied, and both are faults on our side rather than yours.

03

Security

Something on this site or in a build is exposed. Set out the steps that produced it, what you saw, and whether anything belonging to another person became reachable. Non-destructive testing is welcome and will not be answered with a legal threat.

Answered inside

The same or the next business day.

04

Privacy request

You want a copy of what is held about you, or you want an entry put right. For a copy, name the address the records would be keyed to. For a correction, quote the entry you say is inaccurate and give the version you say is accurate, so that the two can be compared rather than negotiated.

Answered inside

30 days.

05

Delete my data

You want it gone. Send the message from the address the correspondence came from, or name that address. No reason is required and none will be asked for. What survives the request, and why, is listed in the privacy policy rather than discovered afterwards.

Answered inside

30 days, with written confirmation of what was destroyed.

06

Privacy complaint

You object to how information about you was handled. Describe the handling and name the outcome you are asking for. The reply states what we found, which parts we accept, which parts we do not accept and on what reasoning, and anything that changed as a result.

Answered inside

Receipt confirmed within 5 business days; the written answer within 30.

07

Legal

A copyright or trade mark question about material published here. Point to the page and the paragraph, identify the right you are relying on, state what you want done, and leave a way to reach you.

5 business days.

08

Press, or anything else

Any subject line you like. State the question you need answered and the deadline you are working to, if there is one.

5 business days.

Periods

Why the numbers are these numbers.

Three periods appear above. Each is set by something other than preference, and it is worth saying which.

Five business days

What arrives inside five days has content in it. Where a matter genuinely needs longer, the message that arrives inside the five days says so and names the date by which the answer will follow, which is the only version of a delay that is any use to you.

Thirty days

Requests for access and for correction get thirty days because APP 12 and APP 13 fix that period, which is where rules 04 and 05 take their number from. Checking who you are happens inside those thirty days, never as an extra stage bolted on before the clock starts. Where a request is refused, the refusal comes in writing, names the ground it rests on, and points at the escalation below.

Same or next business day

Rule 03 gets the shortest period because an exposure that is live gets worse while it waits. Speed here is about acknowledgement and containment; the analysis follows once the thing is closed.

If the answer does not satisfy you

Take it to the OAIC, the federal privacy regulator, at oaic.gov.au or by telephone on 1300 363 992. It costs nothing, you do not need our agreement, and you do not need anyone to act on your behalf. The regulator generally wants to see that the organisation had its thirty days first, which is what rule 06 is for, and nothing in that sequence obliges you to accept our answer at the end of it.

None published. Email is the channel the studio answers, and a published line that nobody ever reaches does more damage than an absent one. If a call is the right medium for your question, say so in the first message and one gets arranged
Postal
None published here. Formal service goes to the registered office held for ACN 700 712 465 by ASIC, which is where service actually has effect
What happens to your message
Ordinary threads are destroyed after 24 months. Anything that became a privacy request, a complaint or a security report is held 7 years. No message subscribes you to anything. The full schedule sits in the privacy policy
